Day Two “40 days and 40 nights” (Visiting the Ark Encounter)

Visit and enjoy a guided tour of the first Roman Catholic Church in Covington, KY.   Originally opened as St. Mary’s Church in 1837, the interior was modeled after the Abbey Church of St. Denis in Paris.  Built in the 13th Century French-Gothic style, the Cathedral’s interior shines with beautiful embellishments, including 82 hand poured stained glass windows.

Nearby, you won’t want to miss having a chance to ring the World Peace Bell.  It is the largest free swinging bell in the world, weighing 66,000 pounds.  Measuring 12’ x 12′, this magnificent bell rings with a powerful, awe-inspiring, deep tone that represents a symbol of freedom and peace.

Lunch on your own at Cracker Barrel along the way to the Ark Encounter. “Oh, Look!  I see it there on the hill!”  The highlight of your day will fill you with wonder as you approach the immense 510 foot long wooden Ark!  Imagine it raining for 40 days and 40 nights; enough water to launch a 510 foot long and 85 foot wide wooden ark!  Your visit to the Ark Encounter will make your imagination run wild as you try to comprehend every detail necessary to feed and water and care for hundreds of animals and survive inside the Ark.  Where did they store the food for the people and animals?  What could have been on each of the three floors?  You’ll find answers and experience the pages of the Bible like never before when you visit this amazing recreation of Noah’s Ark! At the end of your visit, dine on the property at *Emzara’s Kitchen with an all-you-can-eat buffet including soft drinks and dessert.  (Pizza is available and can be ordered for an additional cost) *Groups must have 20 or more paid people to be included in the packaged price.  Otherwise, the meal must be paid on an individual basis.
